What we’re looking for
We are looking for individuals who love the user interaction and moderation part of running a server, and who love making engaging event experiences within the Minecraft game. We want people with all levels of moderation skills, as well as those willing to learn new moderation platforms and custom plugins. A great Guest Relations Associate is someone who makes a positive impact on our guest’s experiences by properly moderating the server as well as engaging with the guests on an inter-personal level by creating events and other experiences on the server using the tools and techniques we provide.
Guest Relations are responsible for making sure all rides, shows, attractions, and other guest experiences on the server are functioning properly for guests, as well as making the user experience come to life on OneBigNation through moderation and special events. Guest Relations are part-time associates who can log on and off the server without any set work hours. The workload on Guest Relations can be very flexible depending on individual circumstances discussed with management. The Guest Relations Associate is the base role for moderation workers on the server who may also be provided opportunities to promote into higher administrative level positions such as Events Coordinator.
While Guest Relations are directly responsible for all moderation and guest connection on the server, their role will also encompass learning building skills and custom plugin usage as well as technical work whilst on the server. Senior Guest Relations with high skill level and top performance review by Management, are also given opportunities to start and work on/Manage their own events and teams, or new and upcoming events for the server. Depending on server needs and current staffing abilities, Guest Relations may be allowed to pick their locality designations and events or have them assigned by Management.
Responsibilities
- Completing assigned project tasks in a timely manner
- Learning how to properly use custom server software including;
- DSuite Shows
- Ride Manager
- SP Audio Server
- Park Manager
- POLARIS Moderation Manager
- Creating interactive events and custom experiences
- Communicating with team members and peer Guest Relations Associates
- Learning from constructive criticism by Management
- Participating in professional development training
- Efficiently communicating work progress to supervisors
- Working as a part of a high functioning team of moderators for guests
- Report directly to the Events Coordinator
Requirements
- Minimum availability of four (4) hours per week
- A discord account with a working microphone
- Must be able to speak with Management for an interview
- The ability to properly moderate and be family-friendly in front of guests
- The ability to download program files provided by management
- Basic English speaking or typing communication ability
- Complete SP Orientation & Traditions upon being hired
- Progress through Guest Relations entry training before full promotion into this role
